‘Incredibly grateful’ – Arsenal star Max Dowman, 16, collects GCSE results after breakthrough season

ARSENAL rising star Max Dowman reached his latest milestone as he collected his GCSE results on Friday. The Premier League’s youngest ever goal-scorer attended Brentwood School in Essex. He said: “I would like to take this opportunity to say a huge thank you to Brentwood School for everything they have done for me during my time here. Sign up for the Arsenal newsletter Thank you! Dream Team is back, free, and there’s £100,000 up for grabs! “Although my journey at the school is ending earlier than expected as I pursue my football career, I will always be incredibly grateful for the support that the school and the staff have given me. “The lessons I have learned, both on and off the pitch, will stay with me as I take this next step in my journey.” Before he added: “I leave with some fantastic memories and friendships that I will always cherish. “I am excited for what the future holds, but I will always look back on my time at Brentwood with great pride and gratitude.” Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta will be delighted for Dowman, 16, who won’t have any distractions ahead of the new season. He made history in March, as his fantastic solo goal against Everton at the Emirates made him the youngest goalscorer in Premier League history, at 16 years and 73 days old. And he came so close to becoming the youngest ever Champions League winner, but Paris Saint-Germain’s victory on penalties denied the Colney kid another record. After making 13 appearances in all competitions, the wonderkid will be looking to make even more of a contribution for the Gunners, as they attempt to defend their title. That defence begins tonight against Frank Lampard‘s newcomers Coventry, and Dowman, with his GCSEs now behind him, is expected to be included in the Arsenal squad. Comment now
