'In politics, I don't trust anybody': Trump says when asked about Netanyahu

US President Donald Trump has said he does not trust anybody in politics when asked directly whether he trusts Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, weeks before Israel’s parliamentary election. In an interview with Newsmax’s “Finnerty” on Thursday, host Rob Finnerty asked whether he trusted Netanyahu. “I don’t trust anybody, honestly,” Trump replied. “I don’t trust anybody. In the world of politics, I don’t trust anybody,” Trump repeated. He did not say whether he had any particular concerns about Netanyahu, with whom he has kept a close political and military partnership. Asked whether he planned to get involved in the 27 October election, in which Netanyahu is seeking another term, Trump said: "Well, they'd like me to be. Yeah, they'd like me to be." He added: “I’ve had a very good relationship with him. We’ve had good success together.” Trump has previously held back from endorsing Netanyahu. In a Time interview published on 1 October, he said his “primary thing” was to help defend Israel.
