In Montenegro, AI is Helping with Schoolwork, But What Are the Rules?

Fourteen-year-old Petar Antunovic says he regularly uses artificial intelligence, AI, when doing his homework, primarily ChatGPT. He says he knows when it’s useful, and when not. “It’s bad when it’s used for doing everything or during tests,” said Antunovic, who lives in the Montenegrin coastal town of Bar. “In most cases, parents know that their children are using AI but they don’t stop them. I think they view it more as an aid for schoolwork.” “You can’t fully trust AI because it can give incorrect answers.” Like their peers everywhere else, schoolchildren in Montenegro are making use of AI tools for their studies and homework, but Montenegro has yet to issue any guidelines or regulations for how this should be done.
