Iman Vellani's New Avengers Project Eases A Major Concern About Ms. Marvel's MCU Future

Iman Vellani was one of the biggest breakout additions to the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) in the post-Avengers: Endgame era. She debuted as Kamala Khan, the hero known as Ms. Marvel, in her own Disney+ series. That show received high critical praise, and Vellani graduated to big-screen projects when she next appeared in The Marvels alongside Captain Marvel (Brie Larson) and Monica Rambeau (Teyonah Parris). Sadly, since The Marvels, Kamala Khan has disappeared from the live-action MCU. While the mid-credits scene in The Marvels teased the Young Avengers or Champions when Kamala recruited Kate Bishop's Hawkeye (Hailee Steinfeld), nothing happened after that. Part of it was thanks to The Marvels' disappointing box office and critical take, and part was Marvel stepping back and releasing less over the next few years. While Vellani returned in animated form for the Marvel Zombies series, she is now coming back to Marvel for a special project leading into Avengers: Doomsday. Iman Vellani's Avengers: Doomsday Podcast Is A Good Sign For Being In Doomsday Having Vellani working on this podcast and promoting Avengers: Doomsday is a great sign. The actress reprising her role in the animated Marvel Zombies was great, and the relationship that developed between Kamala, Ironheart, and Hawkeye proves that a Young Avengers or Champions team-up could work out perfectly. However, now that she is on this podcast, it proves Vellani is still working closely with Marvel. There are so many question marks in the MCU since Marvel cut back its production. Several plotlines have been dropped, from the Eternals' cliffhanger to the fact that Shang-Chi has been missing in action since his own movie. Shang-Chi will be back in Avengers: Doomsday, so hopefully Vellani working on this podcast means that Ms. Marvel will return sooner rather than later as well. Iman Vellani's Ms. Marvel Should Be A Big Part Of The MCU's Future Regardless of The Marvels' failure at the box office, Kamala Khan should be a massive part of the MCU's future after Avengers: Secret Wars. While the hints pointed to a Champions or Young Avengers team, with heroes like Hawkeye, Ironheart, America Chavez, and Wiccan already introduced and the way cleared for heroes like Miles Morales, Patriot, and Speed to join as well, there is also another way she could return. In Ms. Marvel, there was a line of dialogue where she was said to have a "mutation," and that could lead her to become a mutant and a member of the X-Men. While it would be a better choice to have her on the Champions or Young Avengers, the X-Men are already locked in for the next phase of the MCU, so it could guarantee a return for one of the MCU's best-cast young heroes.
