Illegal immigrant charged with impersonating CIA official using scam agency

An illegal immigrant running from Canadian prosecutors was arrested in September after allegedly trying to recruit as a fake CIA official in the United States, newly unsealed court records show.An Oct. 7 indictment in Georgia accuses Lakotah Salvini of leading a fraudulent “intelligence” organization called Castle International with co-defendant Richard Myers since at least December 2025. The pair advertised their fake services to a sheriff’s deputy, tried to approach a Navy base in Georgia, and may have recruited an unnamed Pentagon employee, the Department of Justice claimed.Attorneys for Salvini and Myers did not respond to the Washington Examiner’s requests for comment. They are charged with impersonating a U.S. government employee, which carries up to three years in prison, and with conspiring to commit the offense. The Department of Homeland Security did not respond to multiple inquiries about Salvini’s immigration history. A federal judge in Texas ordered Salvini held without bond in September, citing “prior criminal history,” “ties outside the United States,” “Use of alias(es) or false documents,” and “lack of legal status in the United States.” Salvini previously came from Canada after facing charges there and now has a deportation order from a U.S. immigration court, the Texas court order said. His case was later transferred to Georgia. The alleged impersonation efforts included Myers approaching a security guard at Naval Submarine Base Kings Bay in December 2025 with false government credentials, the indictment says. Myers said he was there to address “a purported security compromise involving a ‘stingray’ device” and that his “superior” was Salvini, referred to under an alias, grand jurors alleged.Myers also “sought personal identifying information” in March “from an individual recruited to participate in Castle International, including the individual’s name and Department of Defense identification number,” the indictment claims. After the charges were unsealed, journalist Ford Fischer reported that Salvini once approached him on X under one of his alleged aliases, “IA Nomad,” about his supposed CIA work. An X account bearing that name messaged Fischer in 2024 to tell him that a former Virginia militia member covered in Fischer’s reporting did not work for the CIA, seemingly trying to silence rumors about the anti-government extremist, according to screenshots the reporter revealed in a Tuesday post.“You can ask my DOJ liaison if you’ve got Telegram,” the X user reportedly told Fischer.TRUMP ADMINISTRATION ‘MONITORING’ LEFTIST ORGANIZERS IGNORING NEW TERRORISM SANCTIONS: STATE DEPARTMENT OFFICIALThe bio of an “IA Nomad” account still live on X says it is based in Canada and links to a Castle International channel on Telegram, where prosecutors say Salvini was active. Another link in the bio goes to an inactive website for “Special Projects Devgroup,” an organization that claimed to offer “paramilitary operations” and other services, according to archived webpages.A Georgia federal judge gave Myers supervised pretrial release while requiring him to submit to mental health treatment.
