IIT Madras extends GATE 2027 registration deadline till October 5

IIT Madras has extended the GATE 2027 registration deadline to October 5 without a late fee. Candidates can now apply for GATE 2027 without paying a late fee until October 5, 2026. The earlier deadline was September 27, 2026.The registration deadline has been extended after the exam-conducting body received several requests from candidates seeking more time to complete the application process.As per the revised schedule, candidates can submit their GATE 2027 applications with a late fee until October 12, 2026. Following the closure of the application window, the correction window will remain open from October 14 to 21, 2026.IMPORTANT DATESCandidates should keep the following dates in mind:Registration begins: September 2, 2026Regular registration deadline: October 5, 2026Registration with late fee: October 12, 2026Application rectification: October 14 to 21, 2026City allotment notification: January 4, 2027GATE 2027 examination: February 6, 7, 13, 14, 20 and 21, 2027GATE 2027 result: March 19, 2027WHO CAN APPLY?GATE 2027 is open to eligible undergraduate students and graduates from disciplines including engineering, technology, architecture, science, commerce, arts and humanities. There is no age limit for appearing in the examination, and candidates can attempt GATE any number of times.GATE 2027 will be conducted as a computer-based test across 30 papers. Candidates can appear for one paper or choose up to two papers from the permitted combinations.The application fee is Rs 1,000 for female candidates and candidates belonging to the SC, ST, and PwD categories. For all other candidates, the fee is Rs 2,000. Candidates can pay online through UPI, net banking, or credit and debit cards.- Ends
