IIMB alumni community raises ₹20.11 lakh for injured student

The Indian Institute of Management Bangalore. The Indian Institute of Management Bangalore Alumni Association (IIMBAA) community came together and raised ₹20.11 lakh to support an IIM Bangalore student who was seriously injured in a road accident.An appeal for financial assistance was shared with the alumni community on the morning of September 25, 2026, with an initial fundraising target of ₹18 lakh. Exceeding the target, 267 alumni contributed a total of ₹20.11 lakh.The overwhelming response brought together alumni across generations and demonstrated the strength of the IIMB community at a time when one of its members needed help, IIMBAA said in a statement.“I am proud to see IIMBAA becoming a real community, one where people come together to help each other when it matters. Because ultimately, that is what a community that cares does,” said Harish Mittal, president, IIMBAA.The IIMB student who met with the road accident remains in a serious condition and is admitted to Fortis Hospital, Bannerghatta Road, the statement said.
