Iconic millennial fashion brand CLOSES website as it’s sold by Debenhams in £12million cash deal

AN iconic millennial fashion brand has shut its website after it was sold by Debenhams in a £12million cash deal. The online fashion retailer was a hit with young women, with everyone from Emily Ratajkowski to Courtney Love collaborating with the brand. Dan Finley, group chief executive for the company said: “Our turnaround continues at pace. “The disposal of this non-core asset aligns with our strategy and further strengthens the balance sheet following the £90m sale of our Sheffield Distribution Centre.” It marks a new chapter for the brand, which was first started as a vintage store on eBay ran by entrepreneur Sophia Amoruso. In 2008, Sophia launched her own online store, and her clothing sold out in just one day. The entrepreneur stepped down in 2015, and in 2017, the company went bankrupt and was purchased by fast-fashion giant Boohoo.
