Pointing out that Gallows’ debut album and 2000trees Festival both celebrate their 20th anniversaries next year, one fan predicted: “Orchestra of Wolves turns 20 next year and, with my conspiracy hat on, 2000trees Festival turns 20 next year. Gallows at Trees next year – it just makes sense.” Another excited fan added: “This could be just what we need, as they know people ARE hungry for it!” At this stage, the clues could point towards anything from a reissue to new music or a live return – and it remains unclear which incarnation of the band would be involved. Most read in Showbiz The Watford hardcore group’s classic line-up featured Frank alongside Laurent Barnard, Stuart Gili-Ross, Lee Barratt and Frank’s brother Steph Carter. Following creative differences while working on their third album, Frank left in 2011 and was replaced by Alexisonfire singer Wade MacNeil. At the time, Frank said he and the others had “different ideas regarding the sound of Gallows going forward”, prompting the band to continue without him. He later revealed he had been “utterly unprepared” for the attention Gallows received and was still dealing with the fallout from the band’s rapid rise and “implosion” years afterwards. Gallows continued with Wade, releasing their self-titled third album in 2012 and Desolation Sounds in 2015. They returned to the stage at Slam Dunk Festival in 2019, but planned appearances at Reading and Leeds were subsequently derailed by the pandemic. It remains unknown whether any new reunion would feature Frank or Wade up front—but fans of the original line-up will be hoping for Frank’s return. After leaving Gallows, Frank formed Pure Love with American guitarist Jim Carroll before launching Frank Carter & The Rattlesnakes, who announced an indefinite hiatus in 2024. He has since been performing with original Sex Pistols members Glen Matlock, Steve Jones and Paul Cook. The foursome initially joined forces for three shows raising money for London’s Bush Hall, with the enthusiastic reception leading to further concerts and tours. However, Frank’s commitments with the Sex Pistols are far from over, with UK and North American dates scheduled throughout the remainder of 2026. For now, Gallows fans will have to wait and see whether the mysterious online activity signals a reunion and who might be leading it. Comment now
