HEN dos are often the perfect opportunity for over-stressed brides to let loose in the run up to their wedding. But for one bride-to-be what started as a fun trip to Mykonos ended up in a nightmare just two hours later. While at first the Manchester-based bride thought the injury would mean stitches, it ended up with a visit to the hospital and emergency knee surgery. Sign up for the Fabulous newsletter Thank you! Now, after the surgery, Leah fears she might not be able to walk down the aisle to say ‘I do’ to her partner. Sharing the horror incident on her TikTok page, unsuspecting Leah was “counting down the days” before the sun-soaked trip at the popular tourist destination which she had planned for a year. The first two hours, according to the footage on the platform, were filled with fun, smiles and Buzz Balls – but just moments later, it quickly turned into a “hen do from hell”. Leah revealed that she had a horror fall on glass at a bar on the first night of her trip with friends. As the injury was so severe, she had to be rushed to a hospital in Athens, which is around a 50-min journey by air. There, she had to have knee surgery – giving Leah just eight weeks to learn how to walk again before the big wedding day. After hearing the devastating news, Leah’s fiancé immediately dashed to see her, jumping on the first flight available and not leaving her side as she recovered. She continued: “Realising I’ll never have the hen do I imagined and never being able to look at Mykonos the same.” “You wouldn’t think it’s real,” the bride-to-be said, claiming she experienced “severe flashbacks” when looking at the photos from the fateful evening. With just weeks to go until her wedding, Leah is now working on recovery by doing physiotherapy. Last month, the 26-year-old was finally able to walk up the stairs instead of hopping. “Small progress is still progress,” she told her followers in a clip. “So glad I filmed every moment of this horrific time so I can look back and know how far I’ve come,” Leah continued, as dozens of people flocked to comments under the video which has racked up more than 70k views. “Girl that’s some evil eye thing I swear,” one person wrote. “Still can’t get over how glam you looked during this all,” someone else chimed in. “You’ve got this girl You defo deserve to redo your hen all over again after the wedding! Who says it needs to be done the traditional way,” a third suggested. “Oh, get well soon. That’s awful. I really hope you were insured. One of my biggest fears is that something happens while I’m abroad,” another commented. Comment now
