In search of a gleaming white smile, I’ve been testing teeth whitening treatments, from powders and pens to strips and smart devices. With social media feed dominance and year-round offers that make its kit surprisingly affordable, SmilePro was in contention – but I was dubious. However, I was pleasantly surprised by this set – here’s what happened after a week of testing. How I testedI took before-and-after pictures to examine any changes in the brightness of my smile. Incorporating the SmilePro kit into my daily oral hygiene routine, I measured the colouring of my teeth after the recommended course, while paying close attention to any new sensitivities, whether my teeth felt cleaner, and if the products left any unpleasant residue. I also compared the recommended usage, ingredients, and price.SmileProWhat we love: Easy to use, travel-friendly, suitable for sensitive teeth, uses blue, red and dual LED lights, can use twice a day for 10 to 30 minutes, tray fits top and bottom teeth, fast results, and doesn’t leave any tacky residue Take note: The button to activate the LED on the mouthguard is sensitive, so hold the sides when cleaning the tray While other LED teeth whitening kits have made my teeth sensitive, or only targeted the top teeth, I was pleasantly surprised by this set. The tray is designed to fit both the top and bottom teeth, cutting the time and hassle of treating the two sections separately. The kit’s three whitening pens can be applied directly and don’t leave any tacky residue or unpleasant taste. The 16 built-in LED lights deliver blue for whitening (I mostly used this setting), red to alleviate sensitivities, and a hybrid LED light for both functions. While easy to activate – tap to activate, touch again to find your preferred setting, and use for 10 minutes before the device automatically switches off – I found the button is sensitive to touch (it switched on when I held the attachment to clean the tray). This kit promises results within one week, and is safe to use twice a day for 10 to 30 minutes at a time. I started low at first, then gradually increased the duration, but within a few sessions I could already see signs of a brighter smile.
