SUMMER isn’t over yet – but as someone with chronically dry lips, I’m already prepping for winter to avoid sore, chapped skin. This week, I put three lip masks to the test. Budget The HABI Strawberry Swirl Lip Sleep Mask is intensely nourishing HABI Strawberry Swirl Lip Sleep Mask, £5 for 20g, boots.com There’s no avoiding the fact this is meant to be a dupe for the cult Laneige lip mask – which is an immediate red flag. As is the flavour – I’d not normally reach for something so sweet. Sign up for the Fabulous newsletter Thank you! In the name of bargain hunting, I tried it anyway, and I was pleasantly surprised. Shea butter and vitamin E make it intensely nourishing, and the thick formula stays put overnight, but the flavour is just too sweet for me. Mid-range This Tocobo Vita Glazed Lip Mask is one of the only overnight masks that actually does what it promises Tocobo Vita Glazed Lip Mask, £16 for 20ml, boots.com Tocobo has quickly become one of my favourite K-beauty brands for its fun but seriously hard-working products. This mask might be the best product in the line-up. With a combination of PHAs – a super-gentle exfoliating acid to slough away dead skin – alongside vitamin E and a mixture of fruit oils, it’s one of the only overnight masks that actually does what it promises. Luxury The Gisou Honey Glaze Collagen Therapy Lip Mask melts into skin on application Credit: Unknown Gisou Honey Glaze Collagen Therapy Lip Mask, £24 for 15g, spacenk.com Most read in Fabulous The texture of this mask is like nothing I’ve tried before – it’s almost buttery, and melts into skin on application, leaving a subtle plumping shine behind. The texture means you can use it both overnight and during the day as a lip balm, as it layers well with other products. A little goes a really long way, which makes the price tag easier to justify. PICK OF THE WEEK I REALLY don’t believe in paying more for beauty products than you need to. There’s so many brands out there, you can almost always find what you’re looking for at an affordable price point. But the new K18 HAIR Future IQ™ Biomimetic Hair Longevity Serum, £110, is more than worth the splurge. In just three months of use, it promises 19,000 extra hairs, and 70 per cent of users saw fewer greys too – so if you’re after thicker, fuller hair and want to keep greys at bay, there’s nothing else like it on the market.
