She began applying to companies and reaching out to seniors and family members for referrals, but faced rejection after rejection.Maria’s career largely revolved around a product, which had sparked her interest in product management. She wanted to upskill herself in the field, but as the job search continued without success, her husband encouraged her to consider becoming her own boss.The couple eventually began experimenting with poultry farming. “One random day, we built a chicken coop,” Maria said. They bought six chicks and took care of them while she continued applying for jobs, only to discover that all six were roosters. She then pushed her husband to get hens because she wanted her children to have what she considered healthier, home-produced eggs rather than store-bought ones. The family expanded the coop, got more chickens and eventually began collecting eggs.What started as a way to provide eggs for her children gradually turned into a business. Maria began selling the surplus eggs and eventually started her own chicken farm. She drew a parallel between her new venture and her interest in product management, saying the eggs had become her “product” and she was now selling them while working to meet demand with adequate supply.“All things happen for the good of those who believe in Christ.
