Hyderabad engineer among Kailash Mansarovar pilgrims stranded in Nepal floods

Suhasini Reddy, a software engineer based in Australia, is among the pilgrims who travelled to Nepal as part of a Kailash Mansarovar pilgrimage and are now stranded amid devastating floods in Nepal. Suhasini left for Nepal on August 19 with a travel group for the pilgrimage, according to information available. Her family is now awaiting information about her whereabouts and safety.The development comes as several Indian nationals remain stranded or out of contact in flood-hit Nepal.FAMILY LOST CONTACT WITH SUHASINISuhasini's brother, Lohith Kumar, said the family last spoke to her on the morning of August 27, when she told them she was moving from Kathmandu towards Mansarovar. Lohith said the pilgrims had vacated their hotel and moved towards Kathmandu. The family has had no contact with Suhasini since then."We pray to God to save my sister. If we get information, we will travel and get her back," Lohith said. 290 INDIANS REMAIN OUT OF CONTACTAs many as 21 Indians who went missing in flood-hit Nepal have been rescued, the government said on Thursday, while 288 Indian nationals remain out of contact a day after devastating flash floods killed 359 people in the Himalayan nation.Addressing a press conference, Ministry of External Affairs spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal said all 21 rescued Indians were from Tamil Nadu and were being brought back to India."Several Indians also remain stranded on the Chinese side of the border in Tibet. More than 200 Indians have sought help, with 95 of them currently in Darchen," Jaiswal said.Jaiswal added that the 288 Indians out of contact include 73 people working at a power project in Trishuli, one of the flood-hit areas in Nepal.INDIANS SEEK EVACUATIONAround 200 Indian nationals who are safe are seeking assistance with evacuation, including around 95 in Darchen, a small village in Tibet, who are proceeding towards Hilsa to cross into Nepal.Four Indians are in Jilong City, while 30 are in Zutulphuk and en route to Saga.
