Husband died three days after his Las Vegas wedding. His widow now needs help finding his ring lost along the Strip

A South Dakota widow is searching for her late husband’s wedding ring - one lost on the Las Vegas Strip during their wedding night and just three days before he died.Tammy Bishop married Will Mulroy on October 20 at Viva Las Vegas Chapel. After their ceremony, they hopped aboard a party bus to tour the Strip, and Mulroy discovered his blue metal wedding band was missing. The couple retraced their steps and asked others to help search, but they never found it, Bishop told Fox5 Las Vegas. At the time, Bishop reassured her husband they could buy another ring. Now, after his sudden death, the missing band has taken on new meaning.“I said ‘It’s not a big deal, we will buy you a new one,’ and now that he is gone, it is a big deal to me,” she told the outlet.Bishop and Mulroy met in July 2023 and made their relationship official the following March. A week later, Mulroy was involved in a motorcycle crash that left him paralyzed, Bishop said.A South Dakota couple married October 20 in Las Vegas, but the groom, who was paralyzed, lost his wedding band on the Strip and died three days later (file photo) (iStock/Getty)“There was a lot of anger at first,” Bishop recalled about the life-changing injury. Despite the challenges, Mulroy continued asking Bishop to marry him, and she eventually agreed. On her birthday, October 4, he revealed that he planned a Las Vegas wedding and invited her friends to attend.“It was a perfect day,” Bishop said. “He was on cloud 9.”The newlyweds celebrated with a party bus and a tour of the Strip. But when they stopped at a bar, Mulroy looked down and realized his ring was gone.“We got to a bar, and he looked down, and his band was gone, and he lost it. He started crying,” Bishop said. The ring, two sizes too big after Mulory lost weight, may have slipped off on the bus or when his wheelchair was rolling along the Strip. “We backtracked our steps. We told the bus driver. We had everyone looking. We couldn’t find it.”The next day, she tried to make light of the situation.“You didn’t even have your ring on 24 hours, and you lost it,” she recalled, teasing her new husband. At the time, the couple laughed about the mishap. But three days after their wedding, Mulroy died. The couple left the Viva Las Vegas Wedding Chapel and got on a party bus to hit the town when the groom noticed his ring was goneDuring the trip home, Mulroy began experiencing significant pain and said he might need to visit the emergency room, Bishop told Fox5. The following morning, he was congested, and Bishop urged him to stay home from work. When she later could not wake him, she called 911. Mulroy was taken to the hospital, where doctors declared him brain dead, she said. He remained on life support for 24 hours, and his heart stopped three times in the emergency room.“It just doesn’t make sense. When we started dating, that’s when the accident happened, then we got married, and it’s hard,” she said.Bishop remembers Mulroy as mechanically skilled and someone who could fix almost anything himself. He worked at Fleet Farm and had previously worked with party buses. The couple had also discussed starting their own party bus business. Now, Bishop hopes someone will find the blue metal band and help return a piece of their brief marriage to her.“It would mean a lot,” she said. “Now that I don’t have him, the rings were blessed, and that was our wedding ring, and that was him and how much it meant to him. That’s why it means so much to me.”
