Husband and son kill Jaipur lady don over affair, stage 18-month cover-up

Her body was then dumped in a well, police said, and the duo allegedly misled police and relatives about her whereabouts.Mintu, who had been missing for nearly 18 months, was found dead on September 23 when her decomposed body was recovered from a well. BODY FOUND IN WELL AFTER 18 MONTHSThe case came to light when Mintu's body was found in the well on the afternoon of September 23. The condition of the body had deteriorated so badly that identification was difficult.With the help of the Civil Defence team, police pulled the body out of the well. Her family later identified her from the shirt and pyjama she was wearing. However, police found the circumstances suspicious and began investigating the case as a possible murder rather than a straightforward missing-person case.The investigation eventually focused on Mintu's husband, Lalaram. According to police, sustained questioning led to the alleged murder coming to light.HUSBAND AND SON ALLEGEDLY KILLED MINTU According to police, Lalaram and his son Hariom strangled Mintu to death on May 25, 2025. They allegedly wrapped her body in cloth and transported it in Mintu's auto to a well around 5 km away, where they threw the body.Police said the motive was linked to a family dispute and Lalaram's suspicion that Mintu was involved in an extramarital relationship.Mintu was not living with her husband at the time. She had been staying separately with her younger son. After the incident, the younger son also went to live with his father.SON FILED MISSING REPORT WITH FATHEROne of the significant aspects of the case was that the accused allegedly tried to create a false trail after the murder.Around seven months after Mintu disappeared, her son Hariom himself accompanied his father Lalaram to the police station, where a missing-person report was filed for Seema alias Mintu Chaudhary.Police said the family also gave different accounts of Mintu's whereabouts to relatives and acquaintances. They were allegedly told that Mintu was in Tihar Jail in connection with a case.According to police, this allowed the accused to maintain the appearance that Mintu was still alive and had simply disappeared.WHO WAS JAIPUR'S ‘LADY DON’ MINTU CHAUDHARY?Mintu Chaudhary's real name was Seema Chaudhary. Her parents worked as labourers, and after her mother died during her childhood, her father Motiram moved with her to Madarampura village near Jaipur.Her father often remained away for work. During this period, Seema fell into bad company, according to the information provided by police.At around 15, she began driving an auto. Her name subsequently started emerging in Jaipur's crime circles. Known for her short hairstyle, which was described as being like that of a boy, she was first named in a case of assault in 2009.Over the years, her name appeared in cases involving assault, robbery and threats. A total of 11 cases were registered against her over about 15 years, with most of them dating to the period between 2010 and 2015.It was during this period that she became known in Jaipur as Mintu Chaudhary.Mintu later married Lalaram, but their relationship became strained and the couple began living separately.According to Jaipur DCP Rajarshi Raj Verma, Lalaram confessed to killing his wife during questioning, while the investigation also brought out the alleged role of his son Hariom.The discovery of Mintu's body in the well on September 23 finally brought investigators to the alleged sequence of events behind her disappearance, nearly 18 months after she vanished.- Ends
