HUR Drones Strike Russian Pantsir System and Boat in Crimea

Operators from the Unmanned Systems Department of Ukraine’s Main Intelligence Directorate (HUR) struck a Russian Pantsir-S1 air defense system, a Project 1100M Sargan boat, and a ground control station for Forpost UAVs in southern Ukraine and Crimea on July 30. The military intelligence agency estimated the cost of the destroyed Pantsir-S1 system at $15 million and the Sargan boat at $6 million. Ongoing campaign against military infrastructure The July 30 operation is part of an ongoing Ukrainian campaign to degrade Russian military infrastructure and aviation assets in the region. Previously, on June 26, HUR drone operators destroyed a Russian MiG-29 fighter jet and airfield launching equipment at the Belbek military airfield in Crimea. The agency estimated the financial losses from that incident to be in the tens of millions of dollars. In early July, the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) also conducted coordinated drone strikes on the Saky and Gvardiyske air bases in Crimea. The SBU reported hitting seven hangars storing aviation equipment, including Su-30SM, Su-30, and Su-24 aircraft at Saky, as well as two hangars at Gvardiyske used for storing Shahed attack drones. These operations fall under a broader 40-day campaign authorized by President Volodymyr Zelensky, designed to systematically reduce Russia’s military potential and disrupt its logistical capabilities in the south.
