The high-octane play, which features daring stunts and explosive pyrotechnics, focuses on Suzanne Collins’ first Hunger Games novel. It tells the story of impoverished youngster Katniss Everdeen and her plight to keep her family alive in the coal-mining region of District 12. She selflessly demands to replace her sister as a tribute for the 74th Hunger Games, a vicious annual contest which sees representatives selected from different districts fight to the death in a controlled arena. The winners receive a lifetime of wealth while food parcels are sent to their districts each month, though the victors are also required to mentor tributes every year thereafter. Comment now
