ELEVEN human skeletons have been unearthed during a roundabout redevelopment. The skeletons were discovered during the redevelopment of the Queensgate roundabout in the centre of Peterborough. The remains have been removed and will be reburied in Church of England burial grounds elsewhere in the city. Police were called to the roundabout following reports of one skeleton before a further 10 were found. Sign up for The Sun newsletter Thank you! The force have confirmed they were not treating the site as a crime scene. The remains are part of a cemetery from the Georgian and Victorian era which was cleared when subways were built in the 1970s. The grim discovery was made as part of the as work to remove two of the underpasses for the new Peterborough Station Quarter redevelopment. The new City Link aims to create a more direct route for cyclists and pedestrians from Peterborough Railway Station to the city centre.
