The Met Police said examinations have revealed that the remains are human following the grim discovery next to Padstow Walk last Wednesday evening. Sign up for The Sun newsletter Thank you! The remains are thought to have belonged to a woman, aged between 25 and 45-years-old, the force added. A murder investigation has now been launched following a postmortem on Monday. Enquiries remain ongoing to confirm the woman’s identity. Detective Chief Inspector Wayne Jolley, who is leading the investigation, said: “We have launched a murder investigation following the discovery of these remains and are working to establish the full circumstances of what happened while keeping an open mind. “I would urge anyone who has information that may assist us in identifying the victim and understanding the circumstances of her death to come forward and speak to us.” Anyone with information is urged to get in touch with police on 101, quoting CAD 6452/12AUG, or anonymously via Crimestoppers.
