Huge fire erupts by Wembley Stadium & IKEA with smoke billowing into air as more than 100 firefighters tackle blaze

OVER 100 firefighters are bravely battling a huge blaze near Wembley Stadium and IKEA. Twenty fire engines and 125 firefighters have been deployed to tackle the fierce inferno on Hannah Close in Neasden, London. Stunned residents watched on from high-rise flats as the drama unfolded before midday on Friday. Locals have also been told to stay inside “where possible” while the fire still rages. The fire is raging less than a mile away from Wembley Stadium and Ikea. Crews from Wembley, Park Royal, Willesden and surrounding fire stations were mobilised to the scene after the first reports just after 11.30am. The fire is located at a mixed waste facility with an industrial estate on fire, said London Fire Brigade. Most read in The Sun More than 70 calls were made reporting the blaze. The Jubilee Line has been affected with “severe delays” due to the proximity of some of the line to the fire. There is no service between Willesden Green and Wembley Park. There is also no service on the entire Metropolitan line as theye respond to the fire alert at Neasden. Tickets will be accepted on London Buses. London Fire Brigade said in a statement on social media: “Twenty fire engines and around 125 firefighters are responding to a fire on Hannah Close, Neasden. “Residents in the immediate area should close doors and windows, remaining inside where possible, due to the large amount of smoke being produced.” “The brigade’s control room took the first of over 70 calls reporting the fire at 11.34am. Crews from Wembley, Park Royal, Willesden and surrounding fire stations have been mobilised to the scene. “The cause of the fire is not yet known.”
