Huge blow to UK seaside town as drivers’ go-to store with 750 branches announces closure in just WEEKS

A MAJOR British car supply store has announced the closing date for a popular coastal location. Shoppers only have a matter of weeks to visit the 25,000 sq ft shop before it shuts for good at the end of the month. Now, shoppers will only have until September 25 to visit the Cromer branch before it shuts its doors for good. Staff working at the coastal store, which spans 25,000 sq ft, are set to be offered employment “where possible” at alternative Halfords branches. The announcement of the Halfords store closure initially came back in June, where a spokesperson for the company said: “We are supporting affected colleagues and offering opportunities at nearby stores where possible. “We are proud to have served the Cromer community for more than 16 years and thank our customers for their support.” Halfords customers have shared their disappointment about the closure, with one saying they were “very sad to see this”. Another shopper said: “How sad to keep seeing all these businesses closing down.” Most read in Money Halfords, founded back in 1892, currently runs over 750 branches across the country, inclding over 370 retail stores and 496 consumer garages. Locals will now have to travel to Norwich to visit their nearest Halfords branch which is located over 23 miles away. Comment now
