A HUGE blaze has ripped through a fashion outlet in a UK city centre, closing a major road. The flames tore through a commercial premises in Salford, Greater Manchester, yesterday evening. Residents living in the area were urged to keep their windows and doors closed as plumes of smoke poured from the blaze. It remains unclear what sparked the inferno. The public has been asked to keep away from the area as crews continue to work at the chaotic scene. Most read in The Sun Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service said: “Firefighters are currently tackling a large fire at a commercial building on Hilton Street in Salford. “Due to the large amount of smoke in the area, residents are advised to keep doors and windows closed and avoid the area. “Bury New Road remains closed while crews work to extinguish the fire.” A statement on the Marc Darcy website reads: “Important notice. Due to a fire at our premises, we are temporarily unable to accept any new order. “We sincerely apologise for the inconvenience and will reopen ordering as soon as possible.
