However, Rountree pulled out due to an injury and has been replaced by Bogdan Guskov (18-3) on two weeks’ notice. Ankalaev was on an unbeaten run since 2018 that saw him dethrone Alex Pereira to win the light heavyweight title in March 2025. However, Pereira reclaimed his title by finishing Ankalaev in just 80 seconds in their rematch in October. Meanwhile, Guskov is coming off a majority draw against Jan Blachowicz, whom he was originally scheduled to rematch at UFC Serbia in August.
