How To Unlock The Interdictor In Battlefield 6

Battlefield 6: Interdictor Sniper Rifle Unlock Guide Published Aug 18, 2026, 11:07 AM EDT Collin is a Guides Staff Writer at TheGamer who has been writing guides for nearly ten years. He is also a professional game/level designer. More importantly, he's still waiting for a new Ape Escape game to release. The mid-season update for Battlefield 6 has been released alongside a new Top Gun-themed event for players to enjoy. Alongside two new game modes and the return of Wake Island, there is a new weapon for players to unlock. Called the Interdictor, this sniper rifle is a high-damage, long-range weapon that is ideal for those who like to sit way back and shoot enemies. However, unlike the other weapons tied to the battle pass, unlocking the Interdictor requires completing specific Top Gun event challenges. To obtain the Interdictor, you will need to earn 100 Ace Medals and then spend them on the event page to unlock the gun. Ace Medals are a new currency you can earn for the duration of the Top Gun event by completing specific challenges. These can be found by going to the "Challenge" tab in the menu and then selecting "Top Gun." From there, you will see a long list of objectives you need to complete, along with the amount of Ace Medals earned on the right side of each challenge. The Interdictor costs 100 Ace Medals to unlock, so it may take several challenges to earn enough, since around half of them reward between 30–80 medals each. I recommend focusing on some of the easier challenges first, such as dealing 4,000 damage to vehicles and completing a match of Carrier Strike. Since the new Carrier Strike mode heavily focuses on air superiority, posting up in an AA Tank allows you to easily rack up the required vehicle damage for this challenge. I was able to do this in a single match with relative ease; just make sure to stay in a safe area that gives you a good vantage point without being prone to infantry ambushes. Ace Medals cannot be earned any other way, so make sure to really focus on completing the event challenges if you want to unlock this sniper rifle along with the other cosmetic rewards. Also make sure to see which modes these challenges get double progress towards, as this will vastly help you earn the required Ace Medals to unlock this weapon. Once you have 100 Ace Medals, go back to the Event tab and select the Interdictor in the top left corner. Press X (Xbox) / Square (PlayStation) to instantly unlock this sniper rifle to your arsenal. As for the weapon itself, the Interdictor comes with a default 10x Scope, Bipod, and five-round magazine. It hits like an absolute truck, at the cost of an incredibly slow firing speed and pretty rough recoil. This is not a weapon for those who like to quickly snap from target to target, as it's fairly cumbersome to use when trying to quickly engage multiple enemies within 75 meters. That being said, the Interdictor shines beyond 100 meters. This is due to the high bullet velocity and damage of the weapon, allowing players to easily secure kills on targets from a long distance away. It also fires what appear to be explosive rounds, which can damage lightly armored vehicles like helicopters. While I wouldn't rely on this as an anti-vehicle weapon at all, it is a nice bonus if you see a truck or helicopter on its last legs. You will definitely want a Mag Catch to increase the weapon's reload speed, the Anti-Glare Coating, and a high magazine. There's not much you're going to be able to do to truly mitigate the recoil since it doesn't have a lot of underbarrel attachments. I can see an argument for the Grip Pods for more urban environments, since you can mount the gun on windows, walls, or railings.
