Sign in to your TheGamer account Between the Marvel Tokon: Fighting Souls beta and the imminent release of Brand New Day, it’s a big week for Spider-Man fans. That week just got even bigger, as Insomniac has officially added suits from the fighting game and the movie to Spider-Man 2. Both of the suits were previously confirmed, but now the pair has been added to the latest Insomniac game as part of an update that was rolled out earlier today. The addition of the two new suits for Peter means the original Spider-Man’s running total has now pulled ahead of Miles. The pair had 45 suits each before today; now Peter has 47, with no new suits for Miles since he is neither in Marvel Tokon nor Brand New Day. There is no unlock requirement needed to get your hands on the two new suits. All you need to do is make sure the latest update is applied, and they should be ready and waiting in your inventory the next time you load up the game. Slip them on and get to swinging. I really like the contrast between animation and Insomniac’s more real-feeling New York City, so I spent most of my time with the game wearing Miles’s Into The Spider-Verse suit. Had the Marvel Tokon suit been an option at launch, I’d have put Peter in that one for the bulk of my playthrough for similar reasons. A Fresh Start In Brand New Day The Fresh Start Suit from Brand New Day gets its name from MCU Peter’s need to effectively start over after a spell made everyone forget who he is at the end of No Way Home. Even though the Marvel Tokon suit is more aesthetically pleasing, I’m guessing the majority of Spidey fans returning to the Insomniac sequel to swing around in the new skins will spend more time with the movie suit so that they can cosplay as the most recent big-screen version of Peter Parker after going to see Brand New Day in theaters. With the days of releasing a tie-in video game alongside a blockbuster movie now firmly behind us, for the most part due to the headache that comes with trying to make that sort of synergy happen, new suits are a great way to get people back into Spider-Man 2. Even though the game is almost three years old, adding suits tied to Brand New Day and Marvel Tokon will, at the very least, get those who already own the game to revisit it, and at best, convince a few more PS5-owning Spidey fans to pick up a copy in the coming days.
