The option to transmogrify armor and weapons was added in The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt Remastered, allowing Geralt to don his flashiest Toussaint robes while secretly enjoying the best Witcher School armor stats. In game, this is referred to as "reforging" your gear. Here's how to unlock armor transmog in The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt. How to unlock transmog in The Witcher 3 With the release of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt Remastered, you can transmogrify Geralt's gear — in other words, change the appearance of his weapons and armor. This means you can equip gear pieces based on their stats alone, and adjust their appearance to match your taste. So, if your playstyle requires griffin armor, but you'd rather dress in wolf school fashion, you should transmogrify your griffin set. To transmogrify armor and weapons, you must unlock a master armorer and a master blacksmith in the base game — regular armorers and blacksmiths ("amateur" or "journeyman" grade) can't help you. The only two masters to meet this requirement are Yoana and Hattori. To unlock master armorer Yoana, complete the "Master Armorers" quest in Crow's Perch (central Velen). It's very important to trust Yoana; once she and Fergus have completed their armors, Geralt must agree to test it. If you fail "Master Armorers," you won't unlock Yoana's services. Question other blacksmiths or visit the forge to learn about Hattori and obtain the quest. Although there aren't any key choices that could lock you out of Hattori's services, don't do anything that might trigger quest failure (like running away during a fight). To transmog the armor and weapons, speak with Yoana or Hattori, respectively, and go to their "reforge" menu. You will see your equipped gear in the gear slots on the right, and a long list of all Witcher 3 equipment pieces on the left. Click on any of these gear pieces to apply its appearance onto the gear piece you're currently wearing. So, as long as you've got the coin, you can change your equipment as often as you like. To unlock a gear piece's appearance, you simply need to obtain it once. You do not have to keep it or carry it with you to use it for transmogs. Beware, however, that gear pieces obtained before The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt Remastered update aren't automatically unlocked. If you kept some extra pieces in your stash, be sure to place them in your inventory to unlock them.
