While it's important to keep your guests happy for the sake of your zoo's reputation in Planet Zoo 2, it's also important to keep your staff happy so they can continue to keep guests happy and properly care for all your animals. While you might think it's not such a big deal if staff are a little unhappy, if they become too frustrated with their work, they are likely to quit. This could quickly mean animals aren't being cared for properly, the park isn't being maintained, and that your remaining employees are overworked to make up for the missing staff. All of which could bring your rating down. How To Keep Employees Happy As with guests, in Planet Zoo 2 you can view a list of all your current employees and hear some of their thoughts about the park. The full list, found under the management tab at the bottom of the screen, will give you a quick overview of who might be feeling frustrated. If you notice that any of the employees have an orange or red face on the list, this means their working conditions aren't great. So, click on the employee to open their individual profile and learn more about what is specifically bothering them. Generally, the main points of concern for an employee are going to be: Salary Workload Surroundings/Facilities For salary, you'll want to ensure your employees are paid appropriately for their level of expertise. For example, a four-star employee should be paid significantly more than a one-star employee. Typically, pay increases automatically once they complete training, but increasing the salary can further improve their mood. Just avoid lowering pay below what the staff member views as fair. The salary tab on their personal profile will give you an idea of whether they are happy or angry about their current wages and allow you to adjust them. As for workload, you'll have to evaluate this periodically as you build your park. When you have a few animal habitats to care for, you may only need a couple of keepers and vets. However, if you have several habitats with large groups of animals, you'll need to hire more staff to care for them all. Almost all positions will require more staff as you expand the zoo, so pay attention to whether employees are overworked. If they are, then you need to hire more staff to help them out. This could also build your reputation if previous needs were not being met by the staff you already had. On the other hand, if you notice that you have a lot of staff in a particular position and a large part of their workload is spent idle, you may not need as many employees in that position, and it might be in your best interest to get rid of some or expand your park. If you notice your employees are spending too much time walking, begin assigning work zones so they're not all trekking all over the zoo. Finally, whether they're overworked or not, all of your staff members need a break. You can accomplish this by building Staff Facilities around the park. If your park is still small, you might only need a single large break area, but if it's large, you may want to create one large one and several smaller ones on the far edges of your zoo. As long as your staff's needs are met, they'll be happy, and your zoo will stay clean, your animals will stay healthy, and your reputation will grow.
