There's quite a lot to find in The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time remake. From all the Pieces of Heart to the different items you'll use in dungeons to just the ammo capacity upgrades for your gear, you will always be on the lookout for something new. Perhaps the best and trickiest weapon to get in the game is the Biggoron Sword. A massive, two-handed weapon that can only be completed through a lengthy side quest where you trade items across Hyrule. If you're looking to snag this item or just struggling to reach specific areas in time, here is how to fully complete the Biggoron Sword quest. Biggorn Sword Trading Quest Walkthrough Before we get into the actual trading quest, there are a few prerequisites you need to accomplish before you can even attempt this. The first is Epona must be unlocked, as many sections in this quest are timed, and without your horse it's basically impossible to complete. Make sure that you complete the Ice Cavern mini-dungeon in Zora Fountain. This will give you the Blue Fire, which you'll use to melt away the ice trapping King Zoro. He will give you the Zora Tunic for your troubles, allowing you to breathe underwater. Plus, you'll also have the Iron Boots, which is a nice bonus. Finally, it's really worth completing the Fire Temple and learning the Bolero of Fire. We will be using a shortcut at the end, and it can only be accessed by finishing the dungeon. Just remember, during any of the timed sections, you cannot use the ocarina to teleport, so you'll have to go to those spots the old-fashioned way! Get The Pocket Cucco To start this quest, you will need to first go to Kakariko Village and speak to the Cucco lady in the southwest corner. Upon speaking with her, she will offer to give you an egg to hold onto. Play the Sun Song (or just wait about half a day) for the egg to hatch. This will give you the Pocket Cucco, which is stored in your inventory, so don't worry about physically carrying it around. Wake Up The Deep Sleeper, Talon Now that we have the Pocket Cucco, we need to actually find the person who is sleeping and will wake up when the Pocket Cucco is near them. You can find Talon in the large house directly across from the Shooting Gallery in Kakariko Village. This will be the house with the dog lady outside. Go into the house and on the first floor in the back corner will be Talon sleeping. Get right next to the bed and pull out the Pocket Cucco to wake him up. Return The Pocket Cucco With Malon awake and on his way to Lon Lon Ranch, head back to the Cucco Lady in Kakariko Village. Show her the Pocket Cucco, which will cause her to excitedly offer a trade for a rarer, blue-colored Cucco called Cojiro. She will request that you find her big brother and return the Cucco to him, as it was originally his bird before he disappeared. Trade Cojiro To The Big Brother Our next destination is the Lost Woods, but don't just teleport there using your ocarina. Instead, head to the Kokori Forest entrance with Epona, as we will need her to quickly get back to Kakariko. When you arrive in Kokori Forest, head to the Lost Woods and then take an immediate left. This will spit you out in a large grove where the lone Skull Kid you give the Skull Mask to hangs around. Make sure it's at night; otherwise, the brother will not appear. When you arrive, approach the man and then pull out Cojiro while targeting him. This will wake the man up, who will then request that you trade Cojiro for an Odd Mushroom. He explains that you need to bring the Odd Mushroom to the Potion Shop in Kakariko Village. The catch is you'll only have four minutes to do so! Bring The Odd Mushroom To The Potion Shop The moment you finish talking to the brother, the timer will start, and the race is on! Quickly make your way out of the Lost Woods and then take the Kokori Forest exit to Hyrule Fields. Since Epona is already there, we won't need to waste time summoning her via playing Epona's Song. Get on your horse and head straight to Kakariko Village, as you'll only have four minutes to deliver the Odd Mushroom. Make sure to use the carrots when riding Epona, as this will speed her up and ensure you can get to Kakariko Village in time. When you arrive in Kakariko Village, head to the potion shop at the top of the hill to the right of the Death Mountain Trail entrance. Since it will be nighttime, you'll have to use the Sun Son to ensure that it's light out; otherwise, the Potion Shop won't be open. Go into the Potion Shop and ignore the guy behind the counter. Instead, head through the back door behind the counter, go down the stairs, and then into the other stranger's Potion Shop. Show the woman behind the counter the Odd Mushroom. She will use it to make some Odd Poultice, which you need to give to her son back in the Lost Woods. There's no timer for this one, so don't stress about getting there right away if you have other things to do! Trade The Odd Poultice Head all the way back to the Lost Woods and go to where the brother was originally sitting around. This time, you will find a young Kokiri girl called Fado. She will explain that the young man has left, and she is looking for something made from the Lost Woods. Conveniently, we have exactly what she is asking for! What are the odds? Agree to give her the Odd Poultice, and she will fork over the Poacher's Saw. This time, we are going to need to head to Gerudo Valley, and there won't be any timer, so don't fret. Bring The Old Saw To Gerudo Valley You'll now need to cross Hyrule Field and make your way west to Gerudo Valley. If you haven't unlocked the Longshot, you will need to bring Epona. When you arrive in Gerudo Valley, carefully walk Epona up the wooden planks over the spring. You'll then need to ride Epona towards the broken bridge, making sure to use some carrots to gain speed as you do. This will trigger a brief cutscene where Epona jumps clear across the broken bridge. Look for the bald man standing around the camp and show him the Poacher's Saw. He will explain that he sent his son to get it, but he never returned with the tool. The Foreman will then offer to trade the Broken Goron Sword, so accept the deal. Visit The Biggoron Now that we have the Broken Goron Sword, make your way to Death Mountain. You can do this a few ways, but the easiest is to play the Bolero of Fire on your ocarina. This will warp you to the exterior of the Fire Temple, which is conveniently right where the Biggoron is. Make sure you have the Goron Tunic equipped, as you'll need it to keep from burning to death! Remember, you'll need to have completed the Fire Temple to take this route, as the Megaton Hammer is needed to clear the way of large rocks. If you haven't beaten the Fire Temple, you can reach the peak by going up Death Mountain Trail. Just be careful of all the large rolling rocks! Regardless, once you reach the peak, speak to Biggoron and present him with the Broken Goron Sword. He will explain that he has got ash in his eyes and needs eye drops to actually see. In order to get the eye drops, you will need to go see King Zora. For trade, he will give you a written prescription for the eye drops of all things. Turns out Hyrule is very strict about who can get eye drops. Talk To King Zora Go to King Zora in Zora's Domain and present him with the prescription. Remember, he has to be unfrozen from the red crystal for this step, so you'll need to clear the Ice Cavern in Zora Fountain and use the Blue Fire to melt the ice he's trapped in. He will give you the Eyeball Frog and explain that it will expire if you don't make it to the Lakeside Laboratory at Lake Hylia in time. Deliver The Eyeball Frog Here's where things get really challenging, as you will only have two minutes and thirty seconds to bring this ingredient from Zora's Domain all the way to Lake Hylia. Using the ocarina to teleport is forbidden, so you'll have to start running the moment you gain control of Link. Once the timer starts, rush out of Zora's Domain and run alongside the river to Hyrule Fields. Do not jump in the water; unlike the original N64 game, the water is shallow enough to walk in for most parts. This will drastically slow your movements, instead of giving you the ability to ride the current. Instead, just sprint down the main path and ignore everything. You do not have a moment to spare, so don't bother fighting any enemies. When you enter Hyrule Fields, get on Epona and ride her south to the Lake Hylia entrance. Do not bother saving any carrots or even trying to pace them. Speed is the name of the game here, and we need to get to the laboratory as quickly as humanly possible. In my attempt, I was able to make it to the scientist with just under 15 seconds to spare! Present the scientist with the Eyeball Frog the moment you get close to him. This will trigger another exchange, where he gives you Specialty Eye Drops which, you guessed it, have another comically short delivery timer. Deliver The Specialty Eye Drops The final major hurdle involves you reaching the top of Death Mountain within three minutes and thirty seconds. This moment is why I strongly suggest you complete the Fire Temple before doing this, as we will be utilizing a couple of shortcuts to reach the Biggoron in time. To start, equip the Goron Tunic, and then leave the Lakeside Laboratory. Hop on Epona and ride her to Kokori Forest, not Kakariko Village. When you get to Kokori Forest, head immediately to the Lost Woods, enter this area, and go: Right, Left, and then straight through the stone entrance. This will spit you out in Goron City, so quickly head down to the Goron Chief's room at the bottom of the city. Use the shortcut behind the large statue to reach Death Mountain Crater. Hang a right when you enter the crater and follow the path up to the exit. If you haven't already, you will need to use the Megaton Hammer to clear the way of all the large grey rocks. Once you exit the crater, you'll be right next to the Biggorron. Present him with the eyedrops to allow him to see. He will then give you a receipt for the sword and tell you to come back in three days. If you're impatient, just play the Sun Song six times in a row to advance time enough that the sword will be done. Now, just present the receipt to Biggoron to get the Biggoron Sword. This is a high-damage, slow weapon that doesn't allow Link to use his shield. The trade-off is that the Biggoron Sword does a comical amount of damage, making it great to switch to when you're about to damage a boss.
