If you want to survive the dangers of a monster-ravaged Paris in Castlevania: Belmont's Curse, then you will need every advantage you can acquire. This can be anything from powerful relics to new weapons to unique abilities you can use in combat. To acquire some of the best skills in the game, you will need to complete the various Tarot Card quests that ask you to track down a boss tied to that Arcana. One of the earliest is The Prophetess, which can be tricky to find if you don't want to spend time wandering around and checking everywhere for alternative routes. The Prophetess Tarot Clue Locations Before we start, it's important to note that you need to actually finish The Warrior tarot card quest first. This is because it will unlock the Holy Light ability, which you need to access the region where this quest is located! If you don't have the Holy Light then you won't be able to complete these Tarot Card so make sure to do it first! Roman Baths Clue Location " The Captain of the Guard led us to the ruins of the Romans Paths to find the creature . . . it did not go well." When it comes to locating the first clue, you will need to head west from the Prison Tower towards the Holy Innocents' Cemetery. Once you reach this region, continue west and stick to the southern route until you reach the first Mirror of Life. Save your progress, then keep going west until you drop down into the room where the first spirit resides. Cemetery Fountain Clue Location " The fountain . . . is strange . . . anything . . . thrown in . . . disappears . . ." The next clue is located just northwest of the Fountain of the Lost. Unfortunately, while you can see the spirit, you'll need to do a big loop along the southern route to reach this ghost. This includes first running through an area full of falling chandeliers until you reach the Hollow Tree room and then using a grapple point immediately above the door. Now follow the path east until you reach the spirit. The Roots Of The Hollow Tree Clue Location "My sister . . . disappeared . . . think she slipped beneath the roots of the hollow tree . . ." Thankfully, this clue is much closer. From the Hollow Tree room, head west until you reach the Mirror of Life and then take the grapple points up to the northern route. Head east into the next area, which will trigger a brief combat segment. After killing all the enemies, head west into the next room and then drop down through the grate to find the next ghost. Guardian's Gaze Clue Location " I came to fight the monster . . . but then I saw the eyes . . . I could not move . . . I could not hide . . . should have turned away . . ." For the final clue, you will need to first go to the Hollow Tree and destroy the wall underneath it to reveal a secret path. From here, proceed into the Roman Aqueduct and head east. You'll need to keep going until you reach a large room that connects to the Fountain of the Lost. At the top of this room, you will find a small platform near the ceiling where the spirit is hanging around. The Prophetess Boss Location With all the clues acquired, head to the Fountain of the Lost and approach the dock where you will use the grapple point to swing across. Instead, jump into the bubbling section in the middle of the water. This will reveal a secret passage that drops you back into the Roman Aqueducts. Keep in mind, if you hit anywhere where the water isn't bubbling, you'll take damage and need to try again! Once you fall into the aqueduct, proceed south until you reach a large staircase that descends to the west. To the right will be a save room you'll want to unlock first before going down the steps to the boss room on the left. How To Defeat Medusa For this boss fight, I recommend being at least a minimum of Level 20 as this will give you enough damage and health to deal with Medusa without too much of a headache. Additionally, for weapons, I recommend either the spear or Joan of Arc's sword, as both deal good damage and are great for punishing this boss between her attacks. When the fight starts, Medusa will unleash a three-hit melee combo that can do quite a bit of damage. If Medusa ever raises her arm, quickly either grapple away or move down to the lower platform. Doing so will ensure you won't get hit and can wait out her attack in relative safety. If you have the spear equipped, you can hurl it from a distance at her to get in some extra damage while she slashes at an empty platform. Her other main attack is a ranged attack where she releases energy in a cone in front of her. While you can dodge this by jumping away, just facing away from Medusa will completely protect you and ensure you don't turn to stone. Looking away from Medusa also ensures you can stay close and turn to attack her between her stone gaze move. Additionally, if you hang out on the lower platform for too long, her tail will slam against it repeatedly. Because of this, you want to try to stick to the upper platforms unless you are dodging her melee combo. Once she takes enough damage, Medusa will switch sides and resume the same attack pattern until you hurt her enough that she becomes stunned and recoils away. Quickly move to the farthest platform away from her while she throws a tantrum. Keep an eye out for a large rock that will fall from the ceiling, as you will want to get behind it once it lands. This is due to Medusa ending her tantrum with a huge, arena-wide beam attack that is unavoidable and will kill you if you're not hiding behind the boulder. Once the attack is over, Medusa will resume her normal attack pattern of cycling between her stone gaze and melee combo. Smaller gorgon heads will start floating across the arena, so try to either kill or avoid them when fighting Medusa. You can use these to refill your mana meter if you're running low, so it sometimes worth outright slaying them as they float by. Your fight will continue as normal, with Medusa throwing two more tantrums during the battle. The next one happens when she falls below 50 percent health and the last, when she only has about 25 percent health left. Both of these play out nearly the same as the first, with you retreating to the farthest raised platform for safety until the rock falls you can hide behind. The only difference is that smaller boulders will fall above you that you'll need to avoid, so keep an eye open for them so you can avoid getting hit in the head. Compared to Joan and The Fallen, Medusa is a much easier fight that follows a predictable rhythm. So long as you make sure to fall onto the platform below when she tries her melee attack and look away from her stone gaze, you will have absolutely no problem killing this boss. After killing Medusa, you will unlock the Petrifying Gaze ability and can grab the Sword and Shield weapon outside of her boss room door.
