The Blood of Dawnwalker works as a narrative sandbox, meaning you're free to explore and shape the story as you see fit. Coen will start the game with a few objectives and a deadline, but how you approach completing your primary task, and whether you bother to complete it at all, is entirely up to you. Players are free to spend as much time with the game as they'd like or run headfirst into deadly challenges while they're unprepared. How Long Does It Take To Beat As mentioned, The Blood of Dawnwalker is a narrative sandbox, so the game can take as long as you'd like, or be over quicker if you're not looking for a 100-hour RPG. If you complete the main objective as intended within the 30-day time limit and stick mainly to main story quests, you're looking at about 50 hours. Despite having a 30-day time limit, time is treated as a resource, so it only passes when you spend it completing certain activities. Additionally, because you don't need to sleep and have access to nighttime, you technically have more time than you would if you were just limited to the day. Overall, you'll have 16 time segments, eight for day and eight for night, to spend before the next day comes. Just to put it in perspective, by day 10, I was already over 15 hours into the game and had covered only about a third of the map. Of course, if you want to, you can rush things and begin quests you're not properly prepared for, which will shorten your time if you manage to succeed. Additionally, if you take more of a vengeance route and kill most of the people you deal with, your play time will likely be shorter than those trying to be a hero to the people and spare as many lives as they can, as the latter will result in more companion interactions and conversations that take time. How Long Does It Take To 100 Percent Complete If you're hoping to do everything you possibly can, this is where you need to be ready to strap in for a long one. Since a few of the achievements in the game require you to complete the ending a few different ways, and all of them are exclusive to each other, you'll either need to play the game multiple times or, and I'd recommend this, load saves and re-do the end of the game several times. That said, you'll also need to do that at several other points throughout the game too, if you want to do every quest and try out different dialogue paths. Unfortunately, the game is intentionally designed to prevent you from doing everything in one go, which is fun for a single playthrough, but a nightmare for completionists. Even the prologue has more quests than can be completed in the allotted time. You can also, completely by accident, kill important NPCs if you don't monitor your hunger in your Vrakhiri form, which will change the quests you have access to. So, if you're forced to revert your saves because of this, that will also cost you time. So, if you do all of that, even loading saves, you can easily expect to spend over 100 hours in The Blood of Dawnwalker, and that's if you manage to do it all efficiently. Otherwise, I'd say you should estimate closer to 120 hours, considering how many times you'll need to load saves and backtrack, try other quests, and re-complete the end of the game.
