In Marvel's Wolverine, you spend most of the beginning of the game fighting Bolivar Trask, who's really got it out for mutants. So much so that he goes to the extent of creating the Sentinels from the comics to root out and destroy them. When you get to the top of Trask Tower in Madripoor, you'll come face-to-face with a prototype version of the Sentinel with only an upper body. This boss fight can be a bit challenging, so here's everything you need to know to beat the Sentinel Prototype boss in Marvel's Wolverine. How To Defeat The Sentinel Prototype Boss The timing of the Sentinel Prototype's attacks is easily some of the least forgiving in the game. It has a few different variations of the same thing: crush attacks with its right arm, a sweep attack with its left arm, and a laser attack from its eyes. Mix in a couple of missiles and dual-fist punches, and you've got yourself a boss fight. The crush attacks are the most common of the bunch, usually coming in groups of two before resting the arm down and letting you strike it. If it goes for a punch attack, it can be fast, but it'll follow up with another crush attack that leaves the arm vulnerable. Sentinel Prototype First Phase The first phase of the boss is the easiest, as expected, but that doesn't mean it's necessarily "easy." When it attacks, the blow will be dealt just a bit later than expected, and if you dodge too early, it'll adjust for your position and hit you anyway. Just make sure you're parrying or dodging a beat later than what feels natural, and then strike the arm as it rests on the ground. When it starts shooting lasers, there's nothing you can do to parry them, so you'll have to run away. When it stops firing, run up close to it and attack the arm until you're prompted to have Mystique shoot the chest with R1. Do this enough times until it leaves its fist on the ground, where you can press Triangle to attack it and cut the arm off through a quicktime event. You'll get a cutscene where it chases you outside, where you'll begin its second phase. Sentinel Prototype Second Phase The second phase of the boss fight is pretty similar to the first, with a couple of key changes. It'll still lead with crush attacks with the remaining arm, but when it starts firing lasers, it won't always be a constant beam like in the first phase. It'll also lean into its missile attacks, which take up a full section of the floor that you need to run out of to avoid damage. It follows this up with a crush attack immediately after, so don't let your guard down and be ready to dodge or parry. In this phase, when it goes for its punch attack, it'll punch twice before going to a forearm crush. Keep up the same rhythm to whittle away at its health bar. After a few rounds of this, Sabertooth will throw a Reaver APC onto the battlefield to block a massive laser from the Sentinel. It'll then prompt you to let him throw you at the Sentinel, allowing you to deal some extra damage to it. From there, keep hammering away at it until you get a cutscene with a few QTEs that signal the end of the fight. The first time fighting the Sentinel Prototype in Marvel's Wolverine will be tough, but after figuring out the patterns, it's certainly doable.
