‘How do they look the same?’ ask stunned fans as Cheeky Girls shake their bums in mini-skirts 24 years after Popstars

MUSIC fans at Hull Pride could not believe their eyes when an iconic pop pair hit the stage and had barely aged nearly 25 years after becoming famous. Romanian pop duo The Cheeky Girls, comprised of identical twin sisters Gabriela and Monica Irima, stunned fans at the Yorkshire pride event. A clip of them performing was shared by gig aficionado, Megan Beardshaw and people marvelled at how incredible they looked. “They look exactly the same, haven’t aged a bit,” wrote one person in the comments. Another added: “They performed at a recent Pride event in Manchester. I wasn’t expecting much but they absolutely brought the house down, got everyone singing and dancing and were brilliant!!” Most read in Showbiz And a third wrote: “Wish I’d aged like a cheeky girl.” The sisters made a return to music in 2024 and took a break from their life in car sales to release the single Let’s Have Fun and album PartyTime 20. Their quick rise to fame was followed by crippling lows, including eating disorders and botched boob jobs, and the pair were left penniless. However, just four years later it all came crashing down as their record label collapsed and left them with no earnings. They were given a £40,000 advance when they signed their record deal, but by the time it fell through they were reportedly owed more than £1million.
