It’s been a devastating couple of weeks for Joe Tate (Ned Porteous) follow the demise of fiancé Dawn, with his loved ones – namely Kim Tate (Claire King) and Graham Foster (Andrew Scarborough) – worried sick about him. Losing Dawn proved so traumatic for Joe that he’s been unable to visit their newborn baby at Hotten General – and has told his family that he intends to put the child up for adoption. Billy Fletcher (Jay Kontzle) isn’t pleased to hear such a thing, nor was he happy about the fact that Joe had banned him and Dawn’s children Clemmie and Lucas from her funeral. Eventually, Joe relented and agreed to let them come, with tonight’s visit to the Dales seeing the funeral take place. Dawn made her Emmerdale debut back in 2018, introduced initially when she crossed paths with Ross Barton (Michael Parr) while looking for drug dealer Simon McManus (Liam Ainsworth). As her visits to the village became more frequent, she crossed paths with Ryan Stocks (James Moore) and struck up a friendship – and later moved in with Pete (Anthony Quinlan) and Rhona Goskirk (Zoe Henry).
