Hotel boss appears in court after X Factor star’s fiancé plummeted to death from window just weeks before wedding

A HOTEL boss has appeared in court over the death of the fiancé of X Factor star Jaymi Hensley, who fell from a window just weeks before their wedding. Olly Marmon, 33, plunged from the second floor of the Hind Hotel in Wellingborough, Northamptonshire, on August 11, 2024. An inquest into Olly’s death heard he died from “head injuries”, before the case was opened and adjourned. Jaymi, whose band Union J scored a UK top ten album after finishing fourth on The X Factor in 2012, had been due to marry Olly just weeks later. The singer, who was 33 at the time, was arrested on suspicion of murder following the tragedy but was later released with no further action. Police confirmed they were no longer treating the case as murder following the results of a forensic post-mortem. Holden, 57, is charged with: “Failing to ensure that windows capable of being opened were likely to be opened, closed or adjusted in a manner which did not expose anyone to a risk to their health or safety.” Most read in The Sun A second charge alleges he was: “Contravening a requirement imposed by an improvement notice by failing to undertake a risk assessment of the condition and safe operation of all windows within the hotel, to eliminate the risk of people falling from them.” The court also heard he is charged with “failing to ensure the health and safety of his employees by neglect. “Failing to ensure that his employees were not exposed to risks to their health and safety.” The charges were brought by North Northamptonshire Council. Holden entered no plea and was granted bail to obtain legal advice. The case was adjourned until October. Posting a photo of himself kissing Olly on the cheek, he wrote: “14 years together and one year until ‘I do’. “I love you irrevocably and so excited that in 365 days we will finally be Mr&Mr.” Just three weeks before his death, Olly also shared a loved-up post, writing: “Best week with my man and nine weeks and counting until we say I do!” Following the tragedy, the stylist’s devastated family paid tribute to him, describing Olly as “beautiful both inside and out”. His mum Julie added: “Words cannot express the devastation and heartbreak I feel over the loss of my beautiful youngest son Oliver, Olly to his friends. “I can’t believe I am having to write this. No mother should have to do this. “The relationship I had with Oliver was so special, he was my best friend. “We spoke every single day. He called me mummy, he used to call me his guardian angel. “Oliver was so caring, loving, quiet and always put others before himself. “He was a very talented hairdresser, and it was a passion he took seriously.” While his dad Leigh Marmon said Olly was a “kind-hearted, gentle soul” who squeezed so much into his short life. He added: “My darling Oliver, I cannot believe that I am writing this. I would give my life to have saved yours.
