Horse Savvy Disko ‘walks onto ambulance’ after horrific Goodwood fall that left Billy Loughnane in a heap

The three-year-old colt, trained by Sean Woods, appeared to clip heels and go down in the delayed opening race on day three of the Glorious festival live on ITV1. ITV host Ed Chamberlin confirmed: “Savvy Disko is on his way back to the stables to be assessed.” The contest, a 1m2f handicap, was full of drama. Well-backed favourite and eventual winner Ciarrai Abu unseated jockey George Wood on his way down to the start. The horse was checked over by vets and given the go ahead to race, storming home in a blanket finish to deliver another hammer blow to the bookies.
