Both were knocked over and sustained serious head injuries. Those inside the Harbin XLI gyroplane escaped injury and immediately helped those on the ground. The crash happened at Chaka Sky No. 1 Scenic Area beside the salt lake in Qinghai Province on Tuesday, July 21. Most read in The Sun The tourists remained conscious as they were rushed to hospital. They were first taken to Ulan County People’s Hospital before being transferred to a larger facility in Haixi Prefecture. Officials from the Ulan County Joint Investigation Group said: “A self-rotating rotorcraft crash-landed, injuring two people on the ground. “The victims were sent for medical treatment at the first opportunity. “Their vital signs are currently stable.” The aircraft has been seized as investigations continue into what caused the accident at the scenic beauty spot.
