Singer Honey Singh on Thursday reacted to Ramayana during an Instagram Live session, where he praised Yash’s portrayal of Ravana and said he had watched the film’s teaser. He said he is a big devotee of Lord Ram, but added that, in his view, Yash’s look and screen presence stood out strongly. The 43-year-old also said he wants the film to remain faithful to the Ramayana he grew up with. Recalling the Ramleela performances he watched in Delhi and Karampura in his childhood, he said he hopes the film does not hurt anyone’s sentiments and stays as pure as those early memories.Speaking to viewers, Honey Singh said, "Yash bhai hai Bengaluru se hamare. Ravana bane hai. Sach kahu doston, maine Ramayana ka teaser dekha hai. Mein Shri Ram ka bahut bada bhakt hu. Mera Ravana se koi lena dena hai. But Yash bhai kya lag rahe hai. Mere opinion me Ranbir bhai se zyada ache mujhe (Yash is from Bengaluru, and he is playing the role of Ravana. Honestly, friends, I’ve seen the teaser for Ramayana. I am a huge devotee of Lord Ram. I don't have any personal connection to Ravana, but Yash looks absolutely incredible. In my opinion, I find him even better than Ranbir.)He went on to speak about his emotional connection with the story and said, "I hope ki movie bahut achhi hu. Kisi ke sentiments ko hurt naa kare. Jaisi hum bachpan se Ramayana dekhte aaye hai, jo hum Delhi me and Karampura me Ramleela dekhte aaye hai, jitni pure thi hamare liye, waisi hi rahe. Koi cheda chadhi naa ho. Kyuki emotions hai bachpan ke (I hope the movie turns out really well and doesn't hurt anyone's sentiments. I hope it remains just as pure as the Ramayana we’ve watched since childhood—and the Ramleela we’ve seen in Delhi and Karampura—without any tampering. After all, these are childhood emotions)." About the filmHoney Singh’s remarks came after the makers of Ramayana announced the release date of the mythological film.
