Hollywood Teamsters Remains Opposed to Paramount-Warner Merger: ‘Stop Playing Games’

Discovery, joining a wave of executives, unions and others in the entertainment industry laying out their stances on the merger after the trial for California Attorney General Rob Bonta’s lawsuit to block it was set for a March 2027 start date. “At every step of the way, Teamsters have asked for data to show how this merger would be good for our industry, our members and domestic production. Touting worker prosperity, without commitments, while simultaneously threatening their livelihood in the press as a bargaining chip begs the question — what is in this deal for American film and television workers?” Secretary-Treasurer Lindsay Dougherty said in a statement on Thursday. “Fast-tracking corporate greed often lends to the creative and skilled workforce losing.
