JAMIE Lomas has revealed why he hasn’t walked down the aisle with his fiancee Jess Bell yet. The Hollyoaks star, who plays the role of Warren Fox, popped the question to his girlfriend three years ago, but it turns out the couple have a specific reason why they have been waiting to say “I do”. The star continued: “Bella is two now. I got offered a couple of gigs going on tour last year, and I turned them down because I don’t want to be away from home. “I think you realise as you get older, that time with your kids is precious. They’re only small for so long. “Getting a chance to do it again at my age now, you realise how quickly time goes, and you just want to cherish those moments as much as possible. She’s so funny, Bella, and I’m really enjoying it.” Most read in TV Jamie proposed to Jess while they were on holiday in Mexico for his birthday. The couple were enjoying a meal at their favourite restaurant Chambao Kobe & Steakhouse in Cancun when the staff started singing happy birthday to Jamie. However the staff were in on Jamie’s plan to propose and were doing more than just bringing a cake over. Speaking to OK! about the proposal, Jamie said: “Of course, all the restaurant staff were in on the surprise. “So they emerged with a cake, singing and clapping with Jess sitting there thinking it was all going well and all about me and my supposed birthday. “And then they changed the music that was playing to Marry You by Bruno Mars.” Jess added in the interview: “Before I knew it there was this ring there and everyone was clapping and cheering. “It was amazing; so wonderful and so very emotional.” Comment now
