While it's fairly predictable that live-service mobile games will eventually reach their end of service, some have done so well before their fanbases had fully dissipated. Shutting down major releases like The Crew has proven to be even more disappointing, especially without any official Ubisoft solution to play the game offline. This time, it's a mobile game that's shutting down, but it's doing so surprisingly quickly. Rainbow Six Mobile didn't receive a proper worldwide launch until earlier in 2026, but it apparently won't make it to a full year of global release. Today, the official Rainbow Six Mobile X account announced that the mobile shooter will be sunset on January 15, 2027, with the content season releasing next week serving as the final one. Rainbow Six Mobile launched in 2023 in a number of regions, and the game has featured 15 seasons in total across the course of its lifespan. Its full international release, however, was surprisingly short-lived, with the global launch only happening earlier this year on February 23. More to follow.
