It nevertheless alleged that the process moved ahead despite those objections, leading members to question the Principal's handling of the matter. The association has now sought an independent probe into the entire episode, including the alleged violations of admission rules and any possible wrongdoing."The House demands that an impartial enquiry be instituted to probe the matters of rule-violation and the possible corrupt practices involved," the resolution stated, as reported by ANI. The staff body has also indicated that it intends to take the issue beyond the college by approaching senior authorities and drawing public attention to its concerns.ADMISSIONS DISPUTE OPENS A NEW FRONT AT HINDU COLLEGEThe controversy centres on admissions made through categories that are subject to specific university rules and eligibility requirements. The staff association's resolution puts the Principal's role at the centre of the dispute and calls for an examination of how the disputed admissions were approved.The association has also alleged that the college's statutory bodies had flagged the issue during the process, but that their concerns did not prevent the admissions from being completed.An independent inquiry, if ordered, could therefore examine both the admission decisions themselves and the administrative process through which they were cleared.DU FACULTY ALSO CHALLENGES INCREMENT RECOVERY MOVEThe developments at Hindu College come at a time when another dispute is brewing within Delhi University over faculty pay benefits.The university has directed the recovery of advance increments granted to PhD and MPhil holders who obtained their degrees after January 1, 2016. The order has drawn criticism from the Democratic Teachers' Front, which has questioned both the decision and the manner in which it was introduced.The teachers' organisation has pointed to university communications referencing a UGC letter issued on August 13, 2025, and a DU communication dated August 20, 2025.TEACHERS QUESTION EXECUTIVE COUNCIL BYPASSThe DTF has argued that the recovery decision was implemented without being discussed in the university's Executive Council.
