She kept checking on family members seated in different parts of the plane, asking why they were quiet and whether their “battery” had already run out even though the trip had only just begun. After several unsuccessful attempts to get the group talking, one of her relatives apparently reminded her that there were other passengers on the flight. The woman seemed displeased by the interruption and muttered to herself before eventually going quiet. However, the peace did not last for long. The woman soon began announcing that it was breakfast time and started calling out to family members to come and eat. Kajuri noted that two of the relatives she referred to as Sonu and Monu were both men in their 50s, but that did not seem to stop her from directing their breakfast plans. Once the family began eating, she reportedly took on the role of coordinator, making sure everyone had what they needed. At one point, she asked one relative whether he had the pickles and instructed another family member seated several rows away to pass them along.Soon, food was being exchanged across the rows, with relatives passing pickles and sharing vegetables with one another. The woman then apparently began chatting with another member of the group, who stood beside her while they ate and talked. The conversation, however, ended up blocking part of the aisle and causing some inconvenience for the cabin crew.Kajuri said this pattern continued throughout the flight, with the elderly woman repeatedly engaging members of her large family group despite the early hour and the presence of other passengers who were trying to rest.Take a look at the post here:The unusual flight experience amused some people online, while others sympathised with passengers who had been hoping to sleep. One user wondered how the elderly woman had so much energy on an early-morning flight, joking that perhaps she was young and everyone else had simply become old.Another linked the behaviour to Indians' tendency to remain constantly connected over the phone, arguing that some people struggled to spend even a moment alone.Others felt the cabin crew should have intervened, pointing out that consideration for fellow passengers was important in a shared public space and that travellers should be mindful of behaviour that could disturb others.- EndsPublished By: Yashna TalwarPublished On: Aug 28, 2026 17:14 IST
