At one point, the famished creature appears tantalisingly close to finally tucking in before its floating feast shifts beneath it once again. The comical wildlife battle was spotted by photographer Sandesh Kadur while on safari in the Pantanal. He initially noticed the lone black vulture stranded in the middle of the water and had no idea what had caught its attention. Kadur said: “I wasn’t sure what was going on, so our amazing Boat Guide, Branco, veered towards the vulture. That’s when I saw a dead caiman floating on the water’s surface. Most read in The Sun “The single vulture that had landed on it was trying in desperation to feed on the carcass, but the log-rolling caiman proved to be quite the challenge-like trying to eat while on a treadmill.” The remarkable encounter comes after another hilarious animal showdown saw a knife-wielding crab square up to a terrified pooch. Bizarre footage showed the feisty crustacean scuttling through a Florida garden armed with what appeared to be a pocket knife. The pint-sized menace then appeared to take a swipe at adorable dog Summer as she cautiously sniffed around the blade-brandishing intruder. Her stunned owner Eduardo Alvarez spotted the bizarre danger and raced over – only to find himself locked in an extraordinary stand-off with the armed crab. A baffled Alvarez asked: “Summer, where the heck did you find a crab with a freaking shank?” Footage showed the fearless Florida resident desperately trying to snatch the creature while dodging its snapping claws and unlikely weapon. After a tense tussle, he finally managed to seize the nippy beast and carry it further into the yard. “Summer, I don’t recommend messing with this,” he warns. “This is a gangster-ass crab,” Alvarez quips.
