High Potential’s Missing Character Desperately Needs A Season 3 Comeback

Utilizing both her love of television and film and her behind-the-scenes knowledge, she began a website reviewing films in 2013, with a focus on horror and indie media. High Potential has a missing character that desperately needs to make a comeback. Based on the French show, HPI, High Potential follows Kaitlin Olson's character Morgan Gillory, a high-IQ consultant to the LAPD (and former cleaner) who makes Sherlock Holmes-like deductions. In its sophomore season, the show took a deeper dive into the personal arcs of many of the main players, while still offering cases of the week with a unique flair. Roman's mysterious disappearance was a key plot point again, but the show also brought Morgan's familial and romantic pursuits into sharper focus. High Potential also explored more personal plotlines for Daphne, Karadec, and Oz, among others, setting up the third season to take these storylines even further. These more personal arcs also helped make High Potential one of the most-watched shows during the 2025-2026 television season. Even better, having a confirmed season 3 gives one missing character the potential for a desperately needed comeback. That character, of course, is Ludo Radovic, played by Taran Killam, who had a significantly smaller role in High Potential season 2 than in season 1. As Morgan's ex-husband, Ludo stepped up to help care for the couple's children when Morgan switched from being a cleaner to an LAPD consultant, and it wasn't long before he became a well-loved character. Hopefully, the third season will see Killam not only returning to the role full-time but also allow Ludo's character further evolution. Ludo Needs A Bigger Role In High Potential Season 3 (After Season 2's Scale Back) By Kryptofreak MovieStillsDB.com Ludo may be one of High Potential's side characters, but he's always had the potential to be more. He has been a solid, steady presence on the show (and for Morgan) since he began working with her to prioritize their kids when she took on the consultant role. Some might say he's the anchor that holds their family and the show together. Their relationship made for a refreshing change from the typical nonsense of lingering feelings that lead to love triangles or friction between exes that leads to clashes. However, after season 2 scaled back Ludo's character, he deserves a bigger role in High Potential season 3. One way to do this would be to delve further into his life and his role within his family. Audiences have seen Ludo act as the voice of reason, distract the children when Morgan has been worried, and offer advice and care to the kids and Morgan alike. However, the reason Ludo and Morgan broke up has never been confirmed (although it might have something to do with Morgan's abilities), and Ludo's life outside his family hasn't been explored. Sure, he teaches driver's ed, but that's basically the only other thing known about him. Season 3 offers the opportunity for the showrunners to give audiences a chance to learn more about a character they love, especially after so many other characters saw more personal arcs in season 2. Additionally, season 2 left many loose threads that could give Ludo a larger role to play, especially when it comes to his kids' safety. The Game Maker threatened Morgan and Ludo's children at the end of season 1, and there was a similar implied threat in season 2 in an exchange with fixer Willa Quinn. Beyond that, if Roman does indeed turn up in season 3, it could open up some interesting interactions between him and Ludo. One possibility that could occur if the show continues following closely to the original HPI is Ludo and Morgan getting back together. However, not only do these characters currently have strictly platonic vibes (and make fantastic co-parents without the romance), but on the original French show, the two end up in a relationship that's fairly problematic, with the French Morgane essentially using Ludo as a rebound. While High Potential has kept some plot points from the original French version, it's also made the story its own, so hopefully this particular storyline can be avoided. Why Taran Killam Was Missing For The Most Part Of High Potential Season 2 Credit: Matt Miller/NBC Killam's absence was due to his other acting pursuits, as he took on a role as a series regular on a competing network in the cheerleading mockumentary comedy Stumble. There, he played Coach Boon Potter, a football coach and the husband of the cheerleading coach. The show followed Courtney, the cheerleading coach, after she was fired from her job for drinking with the cheerleaders. After that, she landed at a state junior college where she tried to pull together a new squad from completely inexperienced students. Coach Boon Potter was there as a lovable goof, someone that Killam described as "the fun uncle." Killam seemed to be thrilled with the new role and was excited to find himself back on NBC. Plus, as a huge fan of The Office UK, the mockumentary format of the new show was a bonus. However, his hours on Stumble didn't match up well with the hours on High Potential, leading to his role as Ludo being reduced. Stumble's Cancellation Allows For Ludo's Full High Potential Comeback By Kryptofreak MovieStillsDB.com Unfortunately (or fortunately for High Potential fans), Stumble was canceled after only a season. Now that Killam isn't working on a competing network and doesn't have hours that conflict with the hours on High Potential, it should allow for a full comeback in season 3, which is truly exciting. This gives High Potential a chance to bring Ludo back into an evolved and larger role than before, in a way that opens up new pathways to explore the character. Whether it's examining his personal life in a way it hasn't before, seeing how he reacts to a possible Roman return, watching how protective he gets over his kids in the face of danger, or even sharing his and Morgan's former love story, the opportunity is there to turn Ludo from a simple, steady presence into a more well-rounded character. Plus, going a route like probing his dating life could provide some comedic relief and intriguing plotlines on the show. However, High Potential decides to handle Ludo's return, though, it will just be nice to see the character on our screens more often again. Hopefully, the show will utilize the character's full potential, but if not, just having that steady anchor there to help ground the series will still be enough.
