Hibs hammer Aberdeen as fans turn on Robinson

Aberdeen supporters turned on head coach Stephen Robinson as their side were hammered 4-0 by Hibernian, who climbed off the foot of the Scottish Premiership table and above their hosts on goal difference.Former Don Jamie McGrath opened the scoring with a superb strike just before the hour, and substitute Callum Wright lashed a second into an empty net with 10 minutes remaining. Nicky Cadden and Thibault Klidje added late counters to round off an emphatic win at Pittodrie. The ill Ayoub Mouloua and injured Emmanuel Gyamfi dropped out for Aberdeen along with Gavin Molloy, with Dan Happe preferred to the Irishman in defence. Tony Yogane and Hicham Mahou also came in. Hibs' only change was enforced, left-back Adam Mayor dropping out through injury, but they lost captain Felix Passlack to injury within the opening 10 minutes. Aberdeen had the better of the opening stages but Hibs keeper Raphael Sallinger remained relatively untested until he palmed away a Mahou effort after 14 minutes. The visitors eased into the game and Martin Boyle blasted their first real effort over the bar. McGrath also saw an effort blocked by Jack Milne before clipping high and wide soon after.Dons captain Kevin Nisbet sent a header over the bar from a Nesta Guinness-Walker cross, and Guinness-Walker would have been disappointed to see nobody latch on to his cutback soon after, the defender having dispossessed Jason Kerr.A smart Dons move saw Nicky Devlin fizz a cross in which narrowly evaded Nisbet, before Jack Milne's 30-yard drive forced a flying save from Sallinger as the Dons turned the screw.Milne struck the bar with a header from the resultant corner before Josh Mulligan sent a diving header wide at the other end in the final action of the opening half. The second half opened tentatively, with Joe Newell's effort wide of the goal before Hibs took the lead in spectacular fashion.McGrath found acres of space 25 yards out and took a touch from Newell's short pass before lashing a superb left-footed shot beyond a helpless Marius Muller, high into the top-right corner.Aberdeen responded immediately with Conor Ronan feeding Nisbet, who saw his shot blocked, but the Irish midfielder tweaked a hamstring in the move and was forced off as the Dons made a triple substitution in chasing the game.Hibs could have been 2-0 up soon after, Muller having to throw himself to his right to deny Mulligan.McGrath sent another effort from close range across the face of goal while, at the other end, a teasing cross from Stuart Armstrong saw Lewis Smith's header clip the post. But Smith blasted home Hibs' second after Muller had denied Klidje in a one-on-one, the goal sparking a loud response from the home support at their beleaguered manager. It was all Hibs thereafter and it came as no surprise when substitute Cadden's angled drive into the bottom-left corner gave the visitors a third goal, with Klidje's stoppage-time finish from a Wright cross rubbing further salt in the wounds. What the result means and next fixtures...
