Of course, this happened behind Dolores Umbridge’s (Imelda Staunton) back, the then-teacher of Defense Against the Dark Arts and later Headmistress of Hogwarts. Umbridge is one of the most hated Harry Potter characters in-universe, and even Hermione was sick of her. While planning the formation of Dumbledore’s Army, Ginny Weasley (Bonnie Wright) asked what they would do if Umbridge found out, to which Hermione answered with “who cares?” adding that it was exciting to break the rules. This line came as a surprise to both viewers and characters, as it was unlike the always well-behaved, by-the-rules Hermione everyone knew. 9 “I've Always Found Him Interesting” Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince The connection between Hermione and Ron took a turn in Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince when he started dating Lavender Brown. This made Hermione accept her feelings for Ron, with Harry also realizing that his friends shared a much deeper bond than he thought. When Ron drank poisoned liquor, he ended up in the hospital, with Harry, Ginny, and Hermione by his side. Hermione came off as a know-it-all and an overachiever, but she gradually showed her softer side, especially in the final third of the movie. To get the Sorcerer’s Stone, Harry, Ron, and Hermione went through different tests, one of them leaving Ron unconscious. Hermione stayed with Ron but not without reminding Harry that he’s a great wizard, capable of overcoming any challenge. Harry said he’s not as good as Hermione, with the young witch replying that friendship and bravery are more important than cleverness. Although the Golden Trio eventually learned the truth, in the meantime they stuck together to keep Harry safe. Once they were in front of Black, Hermione shielded her friend and told Black that if he was going to kill Harry, he would have to kill them too. Hermione was not only highly intelligent but also brave, and this moment in Prisoner of Azkaban not only showed her bravery but also her loyalty and how much she cared about her friends, willing to risk her life for them. 4 “Everything's Going to Change Now, Isn't It?” Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire was a turning point in the Harry Potter saga, as it saw the full return of Lord Voldemort and thus the beginning of his new reign of darkness and horror.
