Henry Cavill and Guy Ritchie work together on this 2026 R-rated action thriller that just hit a major milestone on an important digital chart. Cavill is one of the world's most popular action stars. The actor has played some of the best fighters in pop culture in recent years, including Superman in the DCEU movie franchise and Geralt of Rivia in Netflix's fantasy series The Witcher. Cavill has also starred in one of the biggest action movies of all time, playing August Walker in Tom Cruise's Mission: Impossible – Fallout. Parallel to that, Ritchie has directed quite a few popular action movies. The director is behind Jason Statham's R-Rated action thriller Wrath of Man, Robert Downey Jr.'s Sherlock Holmes movies, Matthew McConaughey's The Gentlemen, and many more. Cavill and Ritchie have worked together three times over the years. Their first movie was the spy story The Man from U.N.C.L.E., with the duo teaming up again in 2024's The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare, which also featured names like Reacher's Alan Ritchson and Young Sherlock's Hero Fiennes Tiffin. Cavill and Ritchie most recently joined forces for the spy thriller In the Grey, which was released in theaters on May 15, and has passed a VOD milestone. Cavill & Ritchie's In The Grey Just Shot Its Way To A Major Milestone According to data from FlixPatrol, In the Grey has reached the milestone of 90 days on the Apple TV Store's Top 20 Movies chart in the United States. As such, the new spy thriller starring Cavill and Jake Gyllenhaal, and directed by Ritchie, has been trending on digital for three full months. That currently stands as the 3rd longest streak on the Apple TV Store's chart. The only two movies that have been trending on the list for longer than In the Grey are Steven Spielberg's sci-fi Disclosure Day, at 100 days, and the horror hit Obsession, at 118 days. In the Grey also shows no signs of slowing down on the VOD chart, as the Cavill R-rated thriller is currently the 9th most-watched movie in the Apple TV Store nationwide. Tom Holland's Spider-Man: Brand New Day, the 3rd highest-grossing movie of all time with over $2.5 billion worldwide, sits at the top of the chart, trending for 43 days. When it comes to streaming, nationwide viewers can turn to Starz. At the time of writing, In the Grey shows up as the 7th most popular movie on Starz, according to the streamer's charts, with Haunted Heist at #1. Will Cavill & Ritchie Reunite Again In The Future? Right now, there are no confirmed projects for Cavill and Ritchie to team up in the future. The director's next films are the action thriller Wife & Dog, led by Benedict Cumberbatch and Rosamund Pike, and the action thriller Viva La Madness, which sees Ritchie re-team with Statham and more. As for Cavill, the former Superman actor will star in the live-action Voltron movie and Chad Stahelski's take on Highlander. However, Cavill and Ritchie have already joined forces for three movies so far, which seems to suggest that they will continue to add to their list of collaborations at some point after In the Grey. Release Date May 13, 2026 Runtime 98 minutes Director Guy Ritchie
