Hema Malini, Shreyas Talpade praise Hanuman Ansh; call its success a miracle

Veteran actor and BJP MP Hema Malini and actor Shreyas Talpade have praised Hanuman Ansh, with both crediting the film’s strong public response to the way it has connected with viewers. Their comments come as the spiritual drama continues to gather support from celebrities and audiences after its release in India on August 7.While Hema Malini described the film’s success as a blessing from Lord Hanuman and congratulated producer Anupriya Nagar for backing the project despite having no prior experience in filmmaking, Talpade called the film’s box-office run a “miracle”.The film, written and directed by Vishal Chaturvedi, is inspired by the life and teachings of Neem Karoli Baba, also known as Maharaj Ji.Hema Malini on the film’s successAddressing the media, Hema Malini said the film’s success was the grace of Lord Hanuman. She also praised Nagar for supporting the project despite being new to film production. She said the team’s effort had resulted in a film that viewers were responding to positively. The 77-year-old said, “Hanuman and Neem Karoli Baba temple is here. I always go there. And today, I am so happy that a film has been made on them. It has become a superhit. It is Hanuman Ji’s grace, let me tell you. Whoever produced this film, she is a normal, simple girl. She doesn’t even know what filmmaking is. But because of her contribution, it has become so good. Everyone is eager to watch it. I also want to watch it.”Shreyas Talpade calls it a ‘miracle’Talpade, who joined the growing list of celebrities backing the film, said movies work only when they touch people’s hearts, and described Hanuman Ansh as one such story. Speaking to the media, he said the film’s theatrical performance reflected its emotional connection with audiences. He said, “Stories should touch people's hearts and only then will they start doing business. I think Hanuman Ansh is one such story that has touched people's hearts. People are able to relate to it and thus it is working well at the box office. The film started doing business in the third or fourth week. It is a miracle in itself.”Reacting to demands to make the film tax-free in Maharashtra, Talpade said, “I see no harm in that. If people like a movie and it is made tax-free, it will reach a wider audience. More people will watch it and appreciate it. It's simple.”Growing support from film industryHanuman Ansh has also received support from other film personalities. Preity Zinta shared her reaction on social media after watching the film in a theatre, posting “Sita Ram” and “Wow” alongside a still from the movie, and later urging her followers to watch it on the big screen with the message, “Don’t miss it, folks.”Earlier, Varun Dhawan said he watched the film in theatres with his mother and recommended it to his fans. He said, “Please go to the theatre and watch Hanuman Ansh. I just went with my mom, and it was an amazing experience. Take your parents, go with your friends. I highly recommend this film to everyone.”Speaking about its spiritual effect, he added, “No one had told me to make this video, nor had anyone called me; I just wanted to do this. I have had a connection with Lord Hanuman since childhood, but this is something else.” Aditya Dhar has also shared his appreciation for the film on Instagram Stories.Released as a relatively quiet title, the devotional drama gathered momentum through strong word-of-mouth and rising public demand. The film has earned over Rs 170 crore in India. Shobhinaw Satyaa plays Neem Karoli Baba, while Vihaan Shedge plays Maharaj Ji in another stage of the story. The cast also includes Chandan Anand, Purnima Tiwari, Anil K Rastogi and Gulshan Pandey.
