J0nathan, a French content creator with roughly 190,000 subscribers, revealed that his channel was taken down for violating YouTube's sex and nudity policy. “Explicit content that’s meant to be sexually gratifying isn’t allowed on YouTube," the company said in response to an appeal. As reported by IGN, the game's opening features an explicit sex scene with BDSM and a topless woman. Several channels have uploaded videos featuring this scene completely uncensored, whereas J0nathan covered up the nudity with black boxes, while also making sure to flag the video as "Not Made for Kids." He relucted to add an age gate, assuming that if it was necessary, YouTube would simply add one later "like they always do." However, that didn't stop the ban hammer from swinging in his direction. "My channel has been completely deleted, wiping out 10 years of hard work and destroying my main source of income," J0nathan said. "I've never had any issues with the platform before. No warnings, no strikes, nothing. And yet they just threw me away like I was nothing." YouTube Rejected J0nathan's First Appeal In Just Minutes J0nathan has filed several appeals, but frustratingly, "everything seems to be handled by AI," with his first being rejected in a matter of minutes. "“How can they possibly uphold such a decision when other videos showing the exact same scene without any censorship are still available on the platform?” he continued. “It really doesn't feel like any human being is actually reviewing these cases.” Indeed, the link to J0nathan's YouTube channel now lands you on a '404 Not Found' page with a confused monkey holding up a magnifying glass. "This page isn't available," the landing reads. "Sorry about that. Try searching for something else." Appeals proving fruitless, J0nathan turned to his fellow content creators, "but none of them have managed to get in touch with anyone at YouTube" who could help with his case. So, he turned to game developers, emailing and tagging them on X, but again, this has done little to help.
